…and welcome to the new blog.
Why? Well, if you have been following me for any length of time, you will be aware that this is my second personal blog. The first one, which i shall forevermore think of as my teenage blog documents a period of rapid and exciting change. A real rollercoaster of a ride, which attracted a lot of interest.
Except: once past, that time was well and truly past, and the excitable ridiculous girl writing then is long gone.
Next up – change of pace, change of metaphor: we’re on to log flume, now! – it was off the highs and lows and ups and downs and into the clear flat water of what i assumed was the final straight. Blogging continued, an itch i needed to scratch: but it was, in the end, an unsatisfactory haphazard process. A lot of my writing is now “out there” in sites that range from GayStarNews to Freedom in a Puritan Age. Not to mention all the national press comment that i write from time to time. So thoughts, ideas, articles are spread much more widely across the web.
I felt…diluted: dissipated, and not in a good way. This blog’s title – Fae Interrupted – was probably a good reflection of that.
Whereas now? Now i am ready to get going again. The last couple of years have been a time for integrating what i have gone through, what i have learnt and, at risk of sounding ever so slightly dramatic, i am ready to roll up my sleeves and get blogging once more.
The latest blog will be a mix of the personal and the political. The latter includes pieces that are both real and serious, and – current affairs being increasingly incredible – some that are not real and just as serious.
Oh! And its Fae Rising because. Because i am. Whether you like it or not. 🙂
